In October 2021, Carole Crossley, the author of a daily devotional book entitled ‘Are You Listening’, was invited to a local café to speak about her life. Carole shared how she came to write the devotional and what aspirations she had for the book. Introduction
In the quiet town of Nazareth, a carpenter’s son grew into manhood. To His neighbours he was simply Jesus who worked diligently with calloused hands and a steady patience. When the moment came for Him to leave, he put aside his tools to take up his calling from God. A calling that would shake the world and heal the broken in mind, body and spirit. He inspired adoration and hatred. The Carpenter’s Sacrifice follows this journey, from Him leaving home and calling His disciples and it continues through His ministry which eventually leads to the cruelty of the cross. It is written as if Jesus is telling the reader about His experiences. In The Carpenter’s Sacrifice, humanity finds both its greatest challenge and its greatest hope.
